iPhone – Finally Vimeo released a native App. But besides accessing and browsing the whole Vimeo Portal, the App comes with Videoediting capabilities. You can shoot your video from within the app and edit is as well. There are a few effects, different clips can be combined and title and audio can be added. For sure not as strong as iMovie and while I tried the app crashed once, but “hey” – Vimeo is for free and the one and only purpose is not the video editing.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP
iPad: Finally, the long awaited “Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery” made it to the iPad. Beautiful game, with awesome “retro-graphics” and a really, really cool soundtrack. In fact I think, you will love the game or hate it – I definately love it, since it is an audiovisual masterpiece!

iPhone – “Free, weekly, themed photo competitions. Submit your own photos and vote for the best!” Photo Challenge is a simple app. There is a new topic every week: you can submit a photo and vote for photos. the picture with the most votes wins the title “best Photo of the Week”. Simple, but great!

iPhone – “What is Situationist? Situationist is an iPhone app that makes your everyday life more thrilling and unpredictable. It alerts members to each other’s proximity and gets them to interact in random “situations”. These situations vary from the friendly “Hug me for 5 seconds exactly” or “Compliment me on my haircut”, to the subversive eg “Help me rouse everyone around us into revolutionary fervour and storm the nearest TV station”. Members simply upload their photo and pick the situations they want to happen to them from a shortlist, in the knowledge that they might then occur anywhere, and at any time.”
Great idea for a social app, that let people (who do not know each other) interact in different and random situations.

iPhone: Our friend Ben noticed a nice App today. BooksAround shows your real places that were part of a book, places where authors were inspired, places were other users read a certain book or places where other users left a personal story. Users can filter the spots or even create new spots.

iPad: Instagallery shows you pictures from Istagram, sorted by different criteria like keywords, users or popularity. The App comes with a pretty simple and straight forward UI and is a nice way to browse Instagram pictures on your iPad.

iPhone, Android: “Visualize interests of people around you, and make the best out of meetups! If you want to find people who you can talk and get connected at parties, meet ups, or college campus”.
Instead of connecting with friends Domo tries to connect you to people, close to you, you do not know yet based on interests from your Facebook account. This is not a new idea, but well done by Domo. We will see, if there will be enough people, using it, but since it is for free, it is worth a try.
