Google’s photo sharing app left closed BETA and is open for everbody now (well with an US Appstore account). It looks quite similar to instagram, but in difference Photovine lets you create or use so called “vines”. A vine is a caption and pictures are always assigned to a vine. Vines are public and every user can contribute a photo. But Photovine does not come with any filters like instagram, but still I like the idea of this different approach of photo-sharing.
Unfortunately the app is only available in the US iTunes Store so far.

Dèjá Vu
The idea itself is – well – old. Google has the technologie as well. But Kooaba – the guys who built the great paperboy app – used their technologie for a pretty simple but really useful app!
Dèjá Vu turns your iPhone into a visual memory.
Just take a picture of something and the App (well the Koaba Servers) scan the picture, try to recognize the thing and tag it accprding to the recognition. I have not played with a lot so far, but so far it worked pretty well. We will keep you updated if we make any different experiences. Unfortunately you need to set up an account to make more than 10 Memos, but it is for free.
In fact, I am one of these persons who already take tons of pictures to keep things in mind and therefore I definitately like this App. Available for iPhone (free).

That is the introduction color monkey gives to their app VinylLove. An d in fact, I was doubtful, if I need an app, where I cannot easily play around with my playlists and stuff like this. BUT, I gave Vinyllove a try and fell in love, once I saw the beautiful Vinylboxes, where you can scroll through your music. And even more, once I played the first album. I know, it cannot totally replace my iPod App, but it is just BEAUTIFUL, feels so great and for this reason will stay on my iPhone. The App is available for iPhone and iPad.

Calvetica got an update
The – in my opinion – best calendar app for the iphone got a huge update. They totally reworked the calendar. It is still looking really beautiful, but got some nice functional updates and if it wouldn’t already replace the native calendar app for me, it would do so now at the latest.

Björk – Biophilia
Biophilia is an iPhone/iPad release of Björk’s latest album. You can browse through a three-dimensional space to explore different musical pieces and interactive artworks or games bound to the differemt tracks of the album. Each track (of the ten) is released as a in-app purchase, whereby the first one – Crystalline – is available right now and the others are to follow soon.
The app feels a little experimental on some ends (well its Björk). But I really like the idea of transporting the music of an album into such an more interactive musical and artistic experience on the iPad.
The App is available for free for iPad and iPhone. The first in-app purchase costs 1,99€. Definately worth a try!
